Twenty years ago, Richie and Sam met through a mutual friend and clicked almost instantly.

They were into the same music, laughed at the same stupid jokes, and seemed to understand each other in that rare, effortless way that only happens a few times in life. Before long, the friendship became creative, and the two started a little music project called Stars of Orion.

They began writing straight away.

Like many young bands, Stars of Orion never quite became what they imagined it might. Life moved on, the project faded, and the songs were packed away onto Richie’s hard drive, where they sat quietly for the next twenty years.

But the music never really disappeared.

Two decades later, Richie revisited those old ideas and found that something was still there. The songs weren’t the same anymore, and neither were they. The album Richie and Sam are now writing does not simply revive those early tracks, but carries pieces of them forward: melodies, feelings, fragments, and the spirit of two friends making music because they had to.

Over the years, Richie and Sam have been in and out of each other’s pockets, getting each other through the hard times, the good times, and everything in between. That friendship is the heart of A Boy Called Hero.

Now, after twenty years of stories, songs, false starts, late nights, and unfinished ideas, they are deep into writing and recording their first album.

And boy, is it going to be a good one.
